Genital warts, what are they and how to get rid of them fast!

Genital warts (condylomata acuminata), also known as human papillomavirus, are a sexually transmitted disease caused by a virus. This virus causes warts that sit in groups together around the vagina, penis or anus. The warts are one to five millimetres in size and can be grey, pink or red in colour. The warts are very contagious. Fortunately, they are not dangerous and usually disappear on their own.

How do you get genital warts?

Sex: both anal, oral and vaginal;

skin-to-skin contact, e.g. by fingering;

using a sex toy immediately after each other;

using the same towel.

How can genital warts go away and why do they sometimes not disappear either

The incubation period for genital warts is 1 to 8 months. On average, the incubation period is 3 months. In exceptional cases, the incubation period can go back up to 7 years.

Once you have them, it can take 2 years for them to go away on their own. If you don't smoke and live a healthy life, your body usually manages to clear this virus on its own. If you smoke, you may be unlucky that your body does not get around to clearing the virus because the immune system is busy clearing nicotine and other toxins.

To the GP or directly to a specialist in genital warts?

You can pay a visit to your GP. Usually, a touch-up tincture is then prescribed. I am writing this blog from my experience as a specialist in genital warts with a different treatment method so do your own research and decide what suits you best. In my experience, my clients have usually already been to the GP first but without success. What I hear from my clients is that the tincture is caustic material and mainly affects the healthy (sensitive!) skin. This results in a painful bottom which sometimes brings tears to the client's eyes. I sometimes say " they come in crying and leave crying" but then they are tears of happiness! That is also the reason I love this work, so rewarding!

Sometimes clients are embarrassed, no need to be!

Genital is the second most common STD , second only to chlamydia. Moreover, of course a condom certainly helps but very often genital warts are also located outside the area of the penis and vagina. Moreover, the risk of infection through the hands is also quite high. In other words, there is virtually nothing you can do about it. Going to the genital wart specialist is a good idea though, that way you might get rid of it much faster.

Treatment at the genital warts specialist

At Skin Practice Rosenberg Skin Clinic, they are treating genital warts on a daily basis. This is nice because that works low-threshold for you to make an appointment there. This skin clinic works with Cryotherapy but unlike the nitrogen tank you might have seen at the wart hour at the GP's office. There, a nitrogen swab is painfully pressed onto the wart, also affecting the healthy tissue around it.

At genital wart specialist Rosenberg, they work with a pen that doesn't even touch your wart. From the pen comes a very thin jet of -89 degrees. This freezes your wart with extreme precision.Within 2 weeks, new skin forms from within and your wart will be gone after 2 weeks. Sometimes repetition is necessary.

Can the warts come back?

Even after a very long time, warts can come back. The warts are caused by the HPV virus 6 or 11, which you carry in your blood.

How many can you get if you do nothing?

I can only speak from my years of experience in skin practice in Blaricum. Sometimes there are 2 or 4 but numbers above 10 are most common. In some cases, I could no longer count them and the warts were clustered together like cauliflower florets. The annoying thing is also that they don't stay in 1 spot but can also spread over a relatively large area.

Genital warts in women are found in the following places:

Around the clitoris;

Around the anus;

At the entrance to the vagina;

On the skin around the vagina;

sometimes in the vagina and on the cervix

Genital warts in men are in the following places:

On the scrotum;

On the head of the penis;

On the penis;

On the skin around the penis;

around the anus

Warts

Warts (Verruca) are caused by a virus, they are very contagious so you easily catch them if you walk barefoot where others walk barefoot.....think of the changing room and shower of your sports club. Warts usually occur on hands and feet. They are harmless. In many cases, they go away by themselves. They can, of course, bother you. Especially under the foot, it can be painful. At Huidpraktijk Rosenberg SKIN Clinic, warts can be removed almost painlessly and quickly with the CryoPen
